International update: Khazri nets for Tunisia

Wahbi Khazri – Tunisia 4-1 Republic of Liberia

Wahbi Khazri was on the scoresheet as Tunisia qualified for 2017’s Africa Cup of Nations.

Prior to kick-off Tunisia needed a win, and Khazri ensured the perfect start as he found the net after just five minutes.

Taha Khenissi doubled their advantage before the break with Saber Khalifa and Hamza Lahmar wrapping up a dominant win.

Lamine Kone – Ivory Coast 0-0 Sierra Leone

Lamine Kone completed 90 minutes as Ivory Coast booked their place in the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations.

The reigning champions were held to a 1-1 draw at home to Sierra Leone, with Kei Kamara rescuing a point for the visitors after Jonathan Kodjia’s spectacular opener.

Paddy McNair – Czech Republic 0-0 Northern Ireland

Paddy McNair completed 90 minutes as Northern Ireland started their 2018 World Cup qualifying campaign with a 0-0 draw in the Czech Republic.

The hosts had the better chances with Filip Novac spurning a golden opportunity after 62 minutes, with Ireland’s brightest moment coming when McNair was denied by Tomas Vaclik.

Didier Ndong – Sudan 1-2 Gabon

New signing Didier Ndong lined up against Sudan on Friday evening helping his nation secure a 2-1 win.

Already qualified for the Africa Cup of Nations, the 2017 tournament hosts fell behind as Hamid Nizar opened the scoring, but Gabon’s response was swift as Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang levelled.

Bruno Ecuele Manga scored what proved to be the winner soon after.
