Kaboul: Defender's praise for team-mate

Younes Kaboul has lavished praise over his team-mates and dubbed Lamine Kone a ‘machine’ after Sunderland kept their third clean sheet in four games.

The Black Cats moved out of the bottom three picking up a point against Arsenal, but it could have easily been three with Sam Allardyce’s side forcing Petr Cech into a number of saves during an action-packed second period.

On Saturday the Lads take to the road travelling to Stoke City’s Britannia Stadium, and Kaboul states the Black Cats will head to Staffordshire in search of three points.

“Lamine looks like he’s always been around,” said Kaboul. “He’s a machine, he’s definitely a machine, but he’s very calm also.

“Him, Wahbi and Jan have brought something into the team in the winter.”

He continued: “As a defender it [keeping a clean sheet] is the best thing, and even though we didn’t win I’m delighted.

“Last weekend we had a cracking game down at Norwich scoring three goals and we didn’t concede, and although we didn’t score against Arsenal we didn’t concede again which is very important.

“You can see the defence and the midfield is working very hard, but the entire team works very hard and now we have to go to Stoke and get a result there.

“We will go there to try and win the game.”
