New signing likely to feature against Saints.
Gus Poyet has confirmed that forward Nacho Scocco will play a part against Southampton in the FA Cup with Budweiser.
The 28-year-old joined Sunderland last month and has been training hard ahead of his debut.
And fans heading to tomorrow’s game are likely to get their first look at the Argentinian, who scored 24 goals in 33 appearances for Newell’s Old Boys in his homeland last season.
“Nacho will play as much as he can – if it’s 45 minutes, it’s 45, if it’s 60, then 60,” Poyet said.
“We need to help him now and hopefully he can have a good game in terms of touches and ability. He will slowly get better.
“We’re looking to try and get Nacho ready for 10 Barclays Premier League games. That would be exceptional.”
