Poyet and O'Shea in London ahead of 2014-15 big kick-off.
Head coach Gus Poyet and captain John O'Shea represented Sunderland at the Premier League season launch in London on Wednesday morning.
The event, which took place at the Capital City Academy in Brent, also featured Everton, Leicester and reigning champions Manchester City.
O'Shea was joined by fellow club captains Phil Jagielka, Wes Morgan and Vincent Kompany, with Manuel Pellegrini, Nigel Pearson and Roberto Martinez attending along with Poyet.
Media from across the world were in on hand, with Sky Sports News broadcasting live from the event as part of their season build-up coverage ahead of the opening day of the new campaign.
“The Premier League is massive around the world in terms of how much it's watched by everyone,” said O'Shea, whose side face West Brom in their season opener this weekend.
“They're showcasing that as well as the work they do in communities and schools, which is fantastic. It's great to be here.”
Meanwhile, the event saw the Premier League launch a new initiative focusing on primary schools around the country.
Operating over three years, the £10.5m scheme will see the league and professional clubs providing community coaches to deliver PE and sport to youngsters in primary schools.
Coaches from Sunderland's official charity, the Foundation of Light, were on hand at the launch along with youngsters who have benefited from local programmes.
