Boss's assessment ahead of trip to West Brom.
Gus Poyet is hoping to have an almost fully fit squad to choose from when Sunderland open the 2014-15 Barclays Premier League season at West Brom this weekend.
Poyet has revealed that Billy Jones and Emanuele Giaccherini are the only current absentees, with the former close to a return ahead of the clash with his former club.
Giaccherini, meanwhile, is set for a spell on the sidelines after picking up an injury in the pre-season friendly against Real Betis.
Speaking at the Barclays Premier League launch in London this morning, Poyet revealed: “Billy is very close, touch and go, so there's a big decision to make in terms of when he's going to be ready to play.
“Giaccherini is going to be a few weeks. It's nothing really serious. If we talk about serious injuries in football, you're talking a few months? Not at at all. It's just tightness, a stretch.”
