Skipper on summer signing Rodwell.
John O'Shea says recent signing Jack Rodwell has made a smooth transition since his arrival from Manchester City.
Sunderland completed a statement signing by acquiring the midfielder from City, with whom he won the Barclays Premier League and Capital One Cup last season.
The England international featured in 2-0 friendly wins over Real Betis and Udinese last week and will be looking to make his league bow when the Black Cats head to West Brom on Saturday.
And O'Shea, the captain, feels Sunderland have a real talent on their hands, saying: “Jack has settled in fantastically well.
“He's a young English lad – like with any player coming in we help them settle in as quickly as possible and make them feel as welcome as possible.
“He's a young lad looking to reignite his career after a quiet couple of years at Manchester City.
“You saw the potential he had to go to a club like that and we're looking to reignite that again. We have a fantastic player on our hands.”
