Former Black Cat joins Norwich City.

Carlos Cuellar has joined Championship side Norwich City an initial one-year deal, becoming the Canaries’ fourth summer signing.

The 32-year-old departed the Stadium of Light following the conclusion of the 2013-14 season, ending a two-year spell on Wearside.

Cuellar made 33 appearances for the Black Cats after joining the club from Aston Villa, and he is now excited to begin a new chapter of his career at Carrow Road.

“I am so happy and so proud to join Norwich City,” Cuellar told Norwich’s official website. “They’ve given me the opportunity to come here and I want to pay them back with performances on the pitch.

“It is a big club but it is looking to get bigger and stronger and to move forward. I see the same mentality that I have of trying to improve all the time, so I think we’ll go hand in hand.

“I got the opportunity to see the Blackburn game live and the players did so well and played good football, scoring good goals so hopefully we can carry that on this season.”
