Liam looking forward to playing alongside Jack.
Liam Bridcutt is expecting to see a ’hungry’ Jack Rodwell take the Barclays Premier League by storm.
The former Manchester City midfielder joined Sunderland last week, and Bridcutt revealed that his transition into the squad has been seamless.
Speaking to safc.com, Bridcutt explained that Rodwell has already shown a desire and hunger to achieve big things at the Stadium of Light.
“For such a young player Jack has had quite a lot of Barclays Premier League experience.
“He is obviously a top player having been at Manchester City for so long, but it was tough for him to get an opportunity there so he is coming here hungry and ready to go.”
He added: “He has shown that [hunger] in the training sessions he has been involved in and he is a good player to have around.”
Rodwell’s arrival saw him become the club’s fifth summer signing, following Billy Jones, Jordi Gomez, Costel Pantilimon and Patrick van Aanholt through the door.
And Bridcutt, 25, believes all of Gus Poyet’s new recruits have settled well and are ready to make an impact.
“Everybody has made them feel welcome and they have the quality, otherwise they wouldn’t be here.
“Jack [Rodwell], Patrick [van Aanholt] and Billy [Jones] have all come in and adapted well, and so far they have looked really good for us.”
