Final Portugal friendly in prospect against Premeira Liga outfit.
Sunderland will round off their programme of three games on the Algarve by taking on Portuguese top-flight side Vitoria Setubal this evening (KO 8pm).
Gus Poyet's men will return to the Estadio Municipal de Albufeira having won one and lost one of their other two friendlies on the trip.
A 1-0 victory over Recreativo de Huelva on Tuesday was followed by a defeat by the same scoreline to Premeira Liga outfit CD Nacional 24 hours later.
Setubal finished seventh in the Portuguese top flight last season and skipper John O'Shea says the players are looking forward to the game having felt the benefits of their pre-season work so far.
“As for the base level of fitness, that's definitely in place now," he said. "Antonio [Pintus, fitness coach] has worked us very hard for a few weeks.
“He's put in fantastic preparation for us, now it's up to us to make sure we get our minutes on the pitch under our belts and take that into the league.”
O'Shea added: “Most importantly [tonight] it's fitness and getting that 90 minutes. Finishing with a win would be great."
