Striker out for four to six weeks.
Kevin Ball says Steven Fletcher’s shoulder injury is likely to rule him out for four to six weeks – a shorter time than was initially feared.
The Scottish striker was helped off during last weekend’s defeat at West Brom after landing heavily on his shoulder when meeting a cross.
The injury has been investigated this week and the interim head coach says the results are pleasing given that a longer-term injury was expected.
“The news is better than we feared,” said Ball, who will take charge of the side against Liverpool this weekend.
“It’s four to six weeks which is good news for us. I’ve been downstairs and Steven has a smile on his face; albeit he realises that it’s four to six weeks.
“Hopefully he’ll be back within that time and he’ll be a great addition to the squad.”
