Defender features in sold-out game at Celtic Park.

Sunderland defender Carlos Cuellar took part in a charity match for former team-mate Stan Petrov yesterday.

The Spaniard featured as a capacity crowd of 60,000 watched a Stiliyan XI beat a Celtic XI 5-3 at Celtic Park.

Proceeds from the event went to a foundation set up by the former Villa man, who was diagnosed with leukaemia in March 2012.

The game featured the likes of One Direction singer Louis Tomlinson, Sky Sports pundit Jamie Redknapp and comedian John Bishop.

As well as Cuellar, a number of other Barclays Premier League players also featured, including Dimitar Berbatov, Gareth Barry and Gabriel Agbonlahor.

Petrov himself took part in the match, featuring for both sides on an emotional afternoon.

After the game, Cuellar tweeted: "An emotional day at Celtic Park with a fantastic atmosphere...You're inspirational @StanPetrov 19."
