Striker looking to keep international progress going.
Connor Wickham was pleased to play his part as England’s free-scoring U21s chalked up another victory last night.
Wickham was on target in the young Lions’ 4-0 win over Austria at Brighton’s Amex Stadium.
"I thought we performed well,” the Sunderland striker told thefa.com.
"We can create ten or 20 chances a game and tonight was no different but we managed to put a few of them away.
“When they had the first and then second man sent off, it obviously helped us a lot.”
Stuart Pearce’s side are in fine form and rank amongst the favourites to win this summer’s European Championships in Israel.
Wickham has been a regular up front and is looking to make sure his name’s on the list when the squad head out to the tournament in June.
He added: "I've scored a few goals throughout the campaign, so hopefully I'll be in the gaffer's mind.
"But it's his choice and it's up to him who he wants to take.
“Anyone who has been involved in the campaign is in with a shout of getting on the plane.”
