Sunderland midfielder Adam Reed has joined York City on a month’s loan.

Reed, 21, is available for the Npower League Two side’s trip to face Bristol Rovers this Saturday.

He joins a City outfit who are second bottom of the fourth tier, two points from safety with six games remaining.

The midfielder – a product of the club’s Academy – has already had one loan spell this season, playing 10 games during a stay at League One outfit Portsmouth.

He has also played for Leyton Orient, Bradford and Brentford over the course of the last two seasons.
