Ji Dong-won

Weekend loan preview

by Ashley Houghton

Big weekend for Ji in German Bundesliga.

Ji Dong-Won’s Augsburg will be looking to win their third consecutive game in the Bundesliga as they battle for survival in the German top flight.

Ji’s side beat Werder Bremen last time out after they’d previously seen off relegation rivals Hoffenheim.

Augsburg are currently in a relegation play-off position though they no longer occupy a spot in the bottom two, who automatically go down.

Connor Wickham’s Sheffield Wednesday travel to Leicester City looking to bounce back from two consecutive defeats following a tricky start to March.

Tuesday’s 2-1 defeat at Watford brought to an end a six-game unbeaten run on the road for Wednesday, who lie just four points above the relegation zone.

Meanwhile, Adam Reed’s Portsmouth host Bury in a battle of the bottom two in League One.

Reed’s side won their first game in 23 league matches with Saturday’s 2-1 win at Crewe Alexandra and will take confidence in winning back-to-back games for this first time since October.

Johnny Maddison will also hope to feature for Crawley as the Red Devils host Notts County.

Jordan Pickford’s Alfreton travel to Tamworth in a mid-table battle in the Conference Premier whilst Billy Knott may feature for Woking as they play Cambridge.
