N'Diaye: 'He saved the game for us.'

Alfred N’Diaye nominated Simon Mignolet as Sunderland’s man of the match for his contribution against Fulham.

The Belgian’s key save on Dimitar Berbatov proved crucial as Sunderland broke away to level the scores and cap a comeback from two goals down.

I wanted more, but we made a draw. I don’t think we played well in the first half but we were better in the second

- Alfred N'Diaye

N’Diaye is a new arrival at the Stadium of Light but has been impressed with the form shown by Sunderland’s number one.

“He saved us and two minutes afterwards we break and score,” he said.

“I think he is the man of the match. Simon is a very good player and he saved the game for us.”

N’Diaye came close to scoring in the second half with a fierce shot from the edge of the box which flashed just over the bar.

And while he’s glad to see another point on the board having been 2-0 down, the French star says wins are vital.

“I wanted more, but we made a draw. I don’t think we played well in the first half but we were better in the second.

“We had lost three games beforehand so we take the 2-2. Two goals is good, but against QPR it’s important we get the win.

“Today we played well attacking and with fight. I came close to scoring – next time I hope I will score.”
