South Korea secure place in Brazil.
South Korea qualified for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil despite defeat against Iran in Ulsan last night.
Sunderland’s Ji Dong-Won played 66 minutes as Reza Ghoochannejhad scored the only goal of the game at the Munsu Football Stadium.
Ji’s side finished second in their qualification play-off group with Iran topping the group to ensure both sides progressed.
It was a nervy night for South Korea as their rivals for a place in Brazil, Uzbekistan, went close to making up a six-goal swing with a 5-1 victory over Qatar.
Uzbekistan will now play a play-off with Jordan to decide the final team from Asia to compete at the World Cup.
Australia have already qualified.
