Seb Larsson is pleased with the progress made so far at Sunderland's training camp in Italy.

The squad arrived in the country on Sunday and trained later in the day before following up with two more sessions on Monday.

With temperatures well into the 30's, it's been a good opportunity for the players to get some solid warm-weather work-outs under their belts.

“The weather has been great, really hot, and the sun's been out – it gives you that little bit extra so it's all good,” Larsson said.

“Hopefully we'll find things are easier for us back in England because we will be used to working really hard in these conditions.”

The Swede has also praised the intensity of the training and hopes head coach Paolo Di Canio is satisfied with what he's seen so far.

Sunderland now have another full day's training ahead before taking part in a behind closed doors practice match on Wednesday.

“The boys have shown an excellent attitude so far, and that's what you'd expect from everyone,” Larsson explained.

“It's been tough but good; we've been working a lot physically but also on the technical and tactical side too.”

He added: “The intensity is up there. We've been training twice a day and training hard.

"The players realise it's only going to benefit us and ultimately the team.”
