Winger hails PDC’s preparations.

Sunderland midfielder Adam Johnson has praised the impact of head coach Paolo Di Canio as the Black Cats continue their preparations for the new season.

Johnson and the rest of Di Canio’s squad are continuing their warm-weather training in Italy before travelling to Hong Kong for the Barclays Asia Trophy.

And Johnson says the Italian’s enthusiasm and passion is rubbing off on the squad.

“He’s so enthusiastic and he just loves the game; I think every minute of the day he’s talking about the game or watching videos of games,” the England international said.

“He still likes getting involved and having a kick-around which is good.”
