SWFC stun Sheffield to progress in Cup.
The Lady Black Cats powered their way to the quarter final of the FA League Cup with a sublime attacking display against a bewildered Sheffield side who left the Hetton Centre on Sunday completely shell-shocked.
The visitors never gave up and turned in a creditable performance but they simply had no answers as the Wearsiders ran out 7-2 winners.
Prolific striker Beth Mead led the way with a hat trick, while Kelly McDougall, Rachel Furness, Sophie Williams and an own goal completed the rout.
After the game, a delighted Mick Mulhern said: "It was a great result against a good, well organised side. Let’s not forget Sheffield were also unbeaten before today, so it was a real test. I'm delighted with my players; they were excellent from back to front.
