Manager thrilled to snare long-term target.
Sunderland boss Martin O’Neill has revealed his delight at bringing Alfred N’Diaye to Wearside after watching the midfielder for quite a while.
O’Neill admitted: “He’s a player I’ve been monitoring for some time. I went out to see him a couple of days before the summer transfer deadline when Bursaspor were involved in the Europa league.
“It gave me an opportunity to look at him then and of course I’ve been monitoring him ever since.”
The Black Cats boss is expecting big things from the French under-21 star, but also realises the midfielder will need time to adapt to the Barclays Premier League and his new surroundings.
The manager added: “He’s only 22 and I think when he settles in, for the price that we paid, I think he well turn out to be good value for us.”
