Manager holds big affection for competition.
Ahead of Sunderland’s FA Cup with Budweiser third round clash with Bolton Wanderers, Black Cats boss Martin O’Neill has voiced how highly he regards the competition.
I consider it to be one of the most fantastic cup competitions that there is.

Sunderland last won the competition in 1973 and this year marks 40 years since that achievement.
Bob Stokoe led underdogs Sunderland to the trophy with a memorable win over high-flying Leeds United at Wembley in May 1973, and despite coming close on a number of occasions, the Black Cats have only made the final of the competition once since then.
O’Neill told the press: “It’s the 40th anniversary of the last time Sunderland won the FA Cup and I think for that reason alone it’s worth our while to try and pay tribute to that great feat.
“From our own viewpoint it’s important for the fans and for the football club to do well in the competition.
