Midfielder looking to make up for Cup disappointment.
Jack Colback admits he’s ruing the fact that Sunderland aren’t in cup action this weekend – but is hoping to make up for the disappointment with a win on Tuesday.
“It’s disappointing that we haven’t got a game because we wanted to be in the cup and have a good run, like we did last year,” Colback said.
“We didn’t perform on the night. Hopefully now we will have more time to prepare for the Swansea game and the lads will be fresher.”
Swansea, who also have a free weekend, have enjoyed an excellent second season in the top flight so far.
Boss Michael Laudrup has guided them to ninth place in the table, five points ahead of Sunderland.
“Swansea have done well again – they’ve built on what they achieved last year,” added Colback, who played in the Black Cats’ 2-2 draw at the Liberty Stadium earlier in the season.
“I think they look more of a threat going forward. It’s a difficult game but one we’re looking forward to.
“We got a good point down there earlier in the season against a side who keep the ball well.
“Now we’re looking for a bit more on Tuesday.”
