Ladies paired with Leeds and City

by Ashley Houghton

Champions' cup journey continues.

Sunderland’s ladies will play Leeds United in the semi-finals of the FA Women’s Premier League Cup in a repeat of last season’s final.

The Lady Black Cats came out 2-1 winners on that occasion and will be looking to repeat that this time round.

Mick Mulhern’s ladies, who were rewarded for their unbeaten run in 2012 at Sunday’s North-East Football Writers Awards, will host a Leeds side they’ve already drawn with on two occasions this season.

Leeds came closest to breaking Sunderland’s 2012-13 unbeaten record when the two sides drew 1-1 last weekend.

The tie will be played on Sunday 24th March with the prospective final to be played on Sunday 5th May.

Also, today, the Ladies were drawn against Manchester City in the Women’s FA Cup fifth round.

Again, Sunderland have been drawn at home, with the tie against City to be played on Sunday 17th March.

The draw bodes well for the ladies, who beat City 3-2 in Manchester back in September.
