Irishman says January signing can have big impact.
John O’Shea says Alfred N’Diaye will be a “massive asset” to Sunderland as he continues to settle into life on Wearside.
Frenchman N’Diaye, who joined the club last month, has made five appearances so far, finishing on the winning side twice.
The former Bursaspor man was busy once again versus Arsenal last weekend, matching up against the likes of Mikel Arteta, Aaron Ramsey and Jack Wilshere.
Alfred showed lots of glimpses of fantastic touches...he'll be a massive asset for us

N’Diaye almost scored within the first minute after making a surging run from deep but headed a Craig Gardner cross over the top.
And defender O’Shea is impressed with what he’s seen so far, saying that the giant midfielder will only get stronger as the weeks go by.
“Alfred showed lots of glimpses of fantastic touches, breaking forward and showing the powerful presence that he is and we know he can be,” he told safc.com.
“He’ll get his fitness up and get stronger and stronger; you see little bits towards the end of the game where he was just tailing off a little bit.
“That’ll come with fitness work and he’ll be a massive asset for us.”
Sunderland have a free weekend before heading to the Midlands to take on West Brom in their next outing.
And O’Shea says there’s plenty of positives to take from the defeat to Arsenal, despite the result.
“If we show that attacking intent and the positive play of attacking with numbers and keeping the ball much better in the second-half, we’ll cause West Brom lots of problems,” he said.
“However, we know defensively as a team we’ll have to be very strong away from home.”
