Irish pair set to start

O'Shea and McClean to face Poland.

 Sunderland’s John O’Shea and James McClean will start for the Republic of Ireland against Poland on Wednesday night.

Coach Giovanni Trapattoni named his side at a press conference ahead of the game, which will take place at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin.

O’Shea, who has captained the side of late, is in line to win his 85th cap, while McClean has played on six occasions.

Former Sunderland man Paul McShane has also been named in the starting line-up.
