Spanish full back in the spotlight.

- Born in Madrid on 28th December 1990.

- Progressed through the youth ranks at Real Madrid before progressing to the Castilla side.

- He made 39 appearances for Madrid’s second string before making his only first-team appearance in a 2-0 away win at Racing Santander as a late substitute for Gonzalo Higuain.

- The 23-year-old joined Bolton Wanderers ahead of the 2010-11 season and made his debut in a 1-0 away win at Southampton in the League Cup.

- Alonso made 46 appearances in three seasons at the Reebok Stadium, scoring five goals.

- Was part of the Wanderers side that knocked Sunderland out of the FA Cup at Stadium of Light last season.

- He won the Trotters’ Player of the Year award for the 2012-13 campaign.

- In May 2013, he joined Italian side Fiorentina on a free transfer following the expiry of his contract at Bolton.

- He made nine appearances in seven months with the Serie A side before moving to Wearside on loan.
