Midfielder heads out on youth loan.

Young midfielder Billy Knott has joined Sky Bet League Two side Wycombe Wanderers on a youth loan.

The 20-year-old’s switch to Adams Park is his third loan move following spells with Woking last season and AFC Wimbledon during the 2011-12 campaign.

Knott made his senior debut for Sunderland as a substitute on the final day of last season and has featured regularly for the club’s development squad.

He made 20 appearances during almost four months with AFC Wimbledon, bagging three goals plus the club’s Young Player of the Year award.

Knott then spent a sizeable portion of last season with Woking, scoring an impressive eight goals in 20 games.

The midfielder will be available when Wycombe face Oxford United this weekend having won one and lost two of their opening three league games.

He is the second young Sunderland player to join Wanderers in recent years – Louis Laing spent a half-season on loan in Buckinghamshire during the 2011-12 campaign.
