MON happy with striker’s return.

Steven Fletcher scored his fourth goal in three games for Sunderland during the Black Cats’ draw at West Ham.

The striker has scored in every Barclays Premier League game for Martin O’Neill’s side since making the switch from Wolves in the summer.

Fletcher’s finishing has been fantastic.

The Scottish international opened his account with a brace at Swansea City, before bagging the opener in the home draw with Liverpool.

Fletcher, who notched his fourth goal at Upton Park, is already halfway to equaling the tally of last season’s trio of top scorers, Sebastian Larsson, Nicklas Bendtner and Stephane Sessegnon, who all got eight, much to the delight of boss O’Neill.

O’Neill told safc.com: “Fletcher’s finishing has been fantastic since he arrived at the football club.

“He hasn’t had that many chances but he has taken the ones that he has had.

The manager continued: “He’s held up play magnificently, as I thought he would do.

“Most of the chances he has had he has put away for us and he was excellent against West Ham.”
