Sunderland winger Adam Johnson has withdrawn from the England squad.

The 25 year-old was named in Roy Hodgson’s squad to face Moldova and Ukraine later this week but has returned to Wearside for treatment after picking up a minor thigh injury.

Johnson had a scan on Wednesday and will miss out on the Three Lions upcoming games.
