Noble stunner not enough for Pools.
Ryan Noble notched his first goal of the season but couldn’t prevent loan club Hartlepool from slipping to defeat at Bury.
The striker, playing in his sixth game of the season, came up with a stunner after Pools found themselves 2-0 down at Gigg Lane.
Noble spotted former Sunderland colleague Trevor Carson off his line and let fly with a sublime strike, finding the back of the net from fully 30 yards.
He was then fouled for a penalty which Neil Austin crashed against the bar as Pools made it 12 games without a win.
Meanwhile there was frustration for Ahmed Elmohamady as his Hull side went down 2-0 at Middlesbrough.
Faris Haroun and Ishmael Miller netted for Boro, who face Sunderland in the Capital One Cup next week.
