McClean, O'Shea and Meyler all feature in defeat.

James McClean, John O'Shea and David Meyler all played as the Republic of Ireland suffered a friendly defeat at the hands of Greece last night.

McClean and O'Shea both completed the full 90 minutes at the Aviva Stadium, while Meyler – currently on loan at Hull – appeared as a substitute 20 minutes from time.

Loint Chovelas scored the only goal of the game just before the half-hour, drilling a low shot past David Forde who had stepped in as a late replacement following Keiren Westwood's withdrawal from the squad.

Ireland pushed in the second half but couldn't break down the Greek defence, coming closest in the 69th minute when Stephen Ward volleyed wide from close range.
