A pair of Sunderland loanees suffered disappointment over the weekend as Hull City slipped to a 1-0 defeat against Burnley.

Ahmed Elmohamady and David Meyler both featured for the Tigers – the latter as a half-time substitute – but couldn’t prevent the Clarets prevailing at the KC Stadium.

Dean Marney’s goal just before the break proved to be the difference, but City remain in the Npower Championship play-offs with 31 points.

In League One, Blair Adams’ unbeaten start to life at Coventry continued as he played 90 minutes in the Sky Blues’ 1-1 home draw against Portsmouth.

Mark Robins’ side were just minutes away from a third win in a row only to be denied by a 90th-minute leveller from Izale McLeod following a defensive mix-up.

Ryan Noble appeared off the bench as Hartlepool snapped their losing run with a 1-1 draw at Walsall.

Evan Horwood netted a penalty for the Victoria Park club, who are bottom of League One.

And Billy Knott – back at Woking after recovering from an injury – marked his return with a pair of goals as the Cards demolished Farnborough in the FA Trophy.

The home side were four goals up at half time with Knott grabbing a brace, including a clever free-kick.
