Striker on as sub as Pools lose.
Ryan Noble came off the bench after extending his loan spell at Hartlepool, but couldn’t prevent his side from going down 2-0 to Tranmere at Victoria Park last night.
Noble was introduced 24 minutes from the end but saw Rovers net two late goals to move back to the top of Npower League One.
Andy Robinson netted a penalty with 11 minutes left before Cole Stockton’s 90th-minute strike sealed the win for the visitors.
Pools remain bottom of the division and are without a win in 15 games.
Caretaker manager Micky Barron told the club’s official website: "I thought in the first half we played well.
"We passed the ball around well and got in to some food situations without really having that killer edge to score a goal.
"In the second half we didn't get on the ball well enough and we gave them back possession too easily and with that you could see the momentum swing in their favour.”
Barron added: "I think the players showed the fans that they do care and they are fighting for the shirt and the club but it's really tough for everyone concerned at the moment.
"But it's one win we need to lift the spirits though at times it feels a long way off because until we stop giving goals away it will remain very tough."
