League leaders frustrated by weather.

Sunderland WFC’s fixture against Nottingham Forest was called off yesterday due to a waterlogged pitch.

The Lady Black Cats were due to travel to the Midlands for a League Cup clash but heavy rain rendered the surface unplayable.

Mick Mulhern’s side were looking forward to getting back into action after starting the season with an 11-game unbeaten run.

They are also well-placed to progress in the cup having won two and drawn one of their round robin games so far.
