Midfielder praises striker following second half show.
Craig Gardner paid tribute to Connor Wickham following the youngster’s display against Norwich at Carrow Road.
Wickham was a second half substitute after coming on for the injured Steven Fletcher and he made an immediate impact.
He's been brilliant in training for the last month and has really worked on his game.

Moments after the restart he almost scored and then he did actually have the ball in the back of the net later in the half but it was ruled as offside.
Gardner, who grabbed Sunderland’s only goal against the Canaries, was full of praise for the 19 year-old: “Connor came on and was brilliant.
“He's been brilliant in training for the last month and has really worked on his game.
“The gaffer and Steve Guppy have got him working on it and it's paying off.” The midfielder continued.
“He's still only young but came up against two good centre-backs and bullied them. That's what we need.
“We need people on the bench who are fighting because we have to fight now.
“We've got the lads, we've got the team spirit and everyone really wants to do well for the gaffer.”
