New boys vying for game time.

All four of Sunderland’s new signings could make their Stadium of Light debuts against Morecambe in the Capital One Cup this evening (KO 7.45pm).

Steven Fletcher and Adam Johnson are both ready and available having joined from Wolves and Manchester City respectively.

Fletcher was in line to potentially some part in the game against Reading only to see the fixture postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.

Johnson, meanwhile, would have watched last weekend's game from the stands anyway as he had signed too late to figure.

However, the flying winger is eligible for tonight’s game and will be pushing for a place in the starting line-up.

Meanwhile, both Carlos Cuellar and Louis Saha are lining up home debuts having figured in the 0-0 draw at Arsenal.

Saha, who made a cameo appearance off the bench at the Emirates Stadium, will likely battle with new signing Fletcher for a place up front.

And defender Cuellar will be hoping to continue in the centre of defence having formed a useful partnership with John O’Shea.

Manager Martin O’Neill has hinted he will go with a strong line-up against the Shrimps, who are currently 11th in League Two.

Jim Bentley’s side are unbeaten in their two away games so far this season, winning 2-1 at Blackpool in the previous round before following up with a 3-0 league victory at Exeter.

They also claimed a 2-2 home draw at York before going down 3-1 to Port Vale at the Globe Arena last weekend.

Tickets for the game are available on the turnstiles, priced at £12 adults and £6 concessions.
