Boss backs defender after Sweden comeback.
Martin O'Neill was pleased to see Carlos Cuellar get a key 90 minutes under his belt at Helsingborgs.
The Spaniard returned for the clash in Sweden having picked up a slight injury during the recent trip to Korea.
He impressed in the 2-0 defeat to the Swedish champions, completing the full 90 minutes at centre-back alongside Titus Bramble.
It was an important milestone for the defender, who signed for Sunderland on a free transfer last month having previously worked with O'Neill at Aston Villa.
"It was an important 90 minutes for Carlos and I felt he did very well," O'Neill said.
"He tired towards the end, which is only natural, and I was very pleased for him."
