Boss's reaction to contract news.
Stephane Sessegnon’s contract extension is music to the ears of Martin O’Neill.
The pacy forward has signed a new deal with the club until 2015 following an impressive 2011-12 campaign.
Sessegnon won the club’s Player of the Season award last time round and is a huge terrace favourite on Wearside.
Speaking just after the deal was announced, O’Neill said:
I’m very pleased that Stephane has extended his contract.

“Maybe in the light of some of the players who’ve come into the football club just recently, he might have had a look at that, I don’t know.
“I’m just very, very pleased Stephane has signed because he is a very talented player. We’re delighted to keep him.”
Sunderland boast a mouth-watering attacking quartet with Sessegnon and James McClean joined by new arrivals Steven Fletcher and Adam Johnson.
“That’s great, of course,” O’Neill said. “It gives us a few options, and if they can stay clear of injuries then they can really progress.”
