Sunderland goalkeeper Simon Mignolet has been called up to the Belgium squad for a forthcoming international friendly.

The 23-year-old, who has 10 caps to his name, will link up with Marc Wilmots' squad next week ahead of the game against the Netherlands on Wednesday 15th August.

He will then return to Wearside ahead of the season-opening clash with Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.

Belgium failed to qualify for Euro 2012 and will be hoping to fare better in their World Cup qualification campaign, which kicks off next month.

They will face Wales in Cardiff on September 7 before hosting Croatia four days later.
