I’ll settle in quickly, says new boy.
Adam Johnson says it won’t take long for him to get fully up to speed at Sunderland.
The England international joined the club late last week and could make his debut against Morecambe tonight.
Johnson, who moved from Manchester City for an undisclosed fee, has returned to the north east having grown up in Easington.
He played alongside captain Lee Cattermole at Middlesbrough and says the amount of familiar faces at the Stadium of Light will help him to settle in quickly.
“I’ve probably known Lee since the age of 12 and I know a few of the other lads too,” he said.
“For example, I know Fraizer Campbell from England and [Matt] Kilgallon from my time on loan at Leeds.
“In fact, there’s probably six or seven that I know so it shouldn’t be hard settling in.
“[Knowing people] is a massive help when joining any club, and I know some of the staff too.
“That’s only going to help me, as is the fact that I’m back in the north east.”
