MON pleased with striker's early progress.
Martin O'Neill saw enough from Louis Saha at Arsenal to confirm what he already knew – that the frontman can have a sizeable impact this season.
The striker made an appearance off the bench as a second-half substitute just two days after joining the club on a free transfer.
Saha had been training at a specialist camp since leaving Spurs back in May and jumped straight into the action at the Emirates Stadium.
He has impressed from the outset in training and will be pushing for a starting place when Reading visit Wearside next week.
"We can see Louis can play,” explained O'Neill, who says he is still looking for further reinforcements in the transfer market.
“You can see what he can do. He brings other people into the game - he’s got great control.
“We could see that yesterday when he was training but we had confirmation of it today.”
