McClean hits stadium milestone.
James McClean's second goal against Morecambe on Tuesday brought up a special milestone for the home of the Black Cats.
The winger's strike in front of the Strongbow North Stand was the 500th competitive goal scored at the Stadium of Light.
The Republic of Ireland international scored both goals in a 2-0 win over the League Two side in the second round the Capital One Cup.
Ironically, the first ever goal at the Stadium of Light was also netted by a man capped by the Republic of Ireland.
Niall Quinn made history when he opened the scoring after 17 minutes in a 3-1 win over Manchester City on August 15, 1997.
