Young Black Cats hoping to extend unbeaten run to six at Manchester United.

Sunderland’s development squad will look to continue their push towards a Barclays U21 Premier League play-off spot when they travel to Manchester United on Monday evening.

A win for the second string would see them move top of the table, whilst three points would also create a nine-point gap above the Red Devils in seventh place.

The top four sides in the table will go into a knock-out tournament to decide the winner of the competition when the league season comes to a close in April.

Only United, Manchester City and Everton have conceded fewer goals than Sunderland in the 22-team league with the young Black Cats also not failing to score in any of their 15 competitive games this campaign.

Monday evening’s fixture will be play at Salford City’s AJ Bell Stadium with admission priced at £3 for adults, whilst admission for under-16’s is free.

Kick-off is at 7pm and live updates will be available on the club’s official twitter account @SAFCofficial.
