Egan and Ferguson join up with Southend United and Boston United respectively.
Sunderland AFC development squad defenders John Egan and David Ferguson have both secured 28-day emergency loan deals with Southend United and Boston United respectively.
Egan moves to the Sky Bet League Two to join up with Phil Brown’s Shrimpers as the Essex outfit look to keep their promotion hopes alive in the final third of the campaign.
The 21-year-old, who has made five appearances for the development squad this season, will link up with his team-mates in time for Saturday’s clash with struggling Wycombe Wanderers at Roots Hall.
Elsewhere, Ferguson joins up with Sunderland teammate Liam Agnew at Boston United as the Pilgrims continue their push for promotion from the Skrill North.
Ferguson has featured 14 times for the Black Cats in the Barclays U21 Premier League this season – more than any other member of the development squad.
The 19-year-old will link up with Dennis Greene’s side in time for the visit of promotion rivals Hednesford Town on Saturday.
