Young Black Cats looking to continue fine away form at Manchester City.

Sunderland’s under-18 side will look to get back to winning ways in the Barclays U18 Premier League when they travel to Manchester City on Saturday.

The young Black Cats suffered back-to-back defeats to Tyneside rivals Newcastle United last week with the latter defeat costing them their place in this season’s FA Youth Cup.

Sunderland will now turn their attentions back to the league, though, with plenty to play for as a win on Saturday against the league leaders could close the gap on Manchester United and Liverpool in third and fourth place respectively.

City are the country’s leading scorers at youth level with 51 goals in just 17 league games and they will open up an eight-point lead on Everton in second place with a win on Saturday.

The young Black Cats have impressed on their travels, though, with wins over the Toffees, Middlesbrough, Tottenham Hotspur and Stoke City in their last four league away games.

Kick-off at Manchester City’s Carrington training complex is at 12.30pm with a full report to follow the conclusion of the game on safc.com.
