Youngsters set for derby clash

by Stuart Vose

Middlesbrough to visit Eppleton CW tonight.

There's a Wear-Tees derby in prospect tonight as Sunderland's U21 side face their Middlesbrough counterparts at Eppleton CW (KO 7pm).

The Black Cats could go to the top of the Barclays U21 Premier League with a victory - they currently sit in second place with four wins and a defeat from their opening five games.

Tonight's opponents have suffered three losses so far, winning once and drawing once. Boro were defeated in their last outing - a 2-0 home reverse at the hands of Wolves.

There's a welcome face back in the squad as John Egan returns to the fold after recovering from injury. The young Irish defender hasn't played since breaking his leg whilst on loan at Bradford last November.

Admission is free for season card holders, while non season card holders can pay on the gate with admission priced at £3 adults and £1 concessions.

Live updates will be available via the club's official Twitter account - www.twitter.com/safcofficial.
