Youngsters travel to Leicester

Coach hoping for back-to-back wins.

Sunderland’s under-18 side travel to Leicester City on Saturday hoping to win back-to-back games for the first time this season.

The young Black Cats beat West Ham United last weekend to record their first success of the campaign.

And coach Carlton Fairweather hopes the youngsters will use that win as a confidence booster ahead of the game with the Foxes, who have lost all of their opening six matches.

“We’ll take the positives from the West Ham game – in that it was three points on the board,” Fairweather said.

“Our performance wasn’t the best [against West Ham] but we did create some good chances and we have to build on that at the weekend.”

The game with Leicester kicks off at 11.45am with a full report to follow on on Saturday afternoon.
