Development squad to make Consett trip.
Sunderland’s development squad travel to Consett this evening at the Black Cats’ second string bring down the curtain on their 2012-13 campaign.
Tonight’s friendly is part of Consett AFC’s triple celebration as the Steelemen prepare to leave Belle Vue Park, their home of 63 years.
Consett will play in a new purpose-built stadium next season, and they begin their countdown to the move with a friendly against a Sunderland XI.
Sunderland played in the first game ever to be staged at Belle Vue Park in the old North Eastern League in August 1950.
This evening’s game will kick-off at 7pm, and admission is £5 adults, £3 senior citizens and £1 under-16s.
A special souvenir programme will also be on sale, with plenty of Belle Vue-themed content, priced at £2.
