England internationals to star in aid of Blood Foundation.Sunderland AFC’s Ladies team are organising a charity football match named 'Clash of the Titans' in aid of the Blood Foundation.
The game will feature Sunderland's past and present players and will take place on Sunday 24th November at the Hetton Centre, Eppleton.
"The reason for the charity match," said Julie Twaddle, SAFC Ladies’ strength and conditioning coach.
"It’s to raise money for the Blood Foundation to help my good friend and boss's son Finn.”
Three-year-old Finlay Kennedy has been battling an undiagnosed immune system condition since he was born and has to have blood infusions every two weeks to maintain reasonable health levels.
"I have spoke to several of the old girls," explained Julie. "Hopefully I will have a squad of approximately 20-30 players.
"England internationals, Jill Scott, Steph Houghton and Carly Telford have agreed to play and I am hoping for Jordan Nobbs and Lucy Bronze to play too."
Admission to the game is £3 Adults, £1 concessions and there will be a raffle on the day with a signed England Women's Shirt kindly donated by Jill Scott and many other prizes.
Any former Sunderland player who would like to take part, please email Julie on firstname.lastname@example.org.
