Defender looks ahead to tonight's action at Doncaster.
Sunderland Ladies’ Gemma Wilson is looking forward to meeting title rivals Doncaster Belles for the first time this season.
The Lady Black Cats head to the Keepmoat Stadium this evening (KO 7.45pm) for a Continental Cup tie.
The teams are neck and neck at the top of the WSL 2 table and Wilson is looking forward to the challenge of facing one of the giants of the ladies game.
“I think we look forward to every game regardless of who it is; the fact that it's Doncaster is a good chance to get a measure of each other before we meet in the league but that's something for us to discuss after the game,” she said.
“Thursday is all about the cup and making sure we do the right things to get our campaign back on track."
Meanwhile Wilson’s side will have extra motivation this evening having endured a 6-0 defeat at Liverpool in their last outing.
And the defender is looking forward to the visit to the Keepmoat Stadium, which is amongst the WSL’s finest venues.
“Every single one of us would agree we didn't play the way we usually do and Liverpool on the day were brilliant so that's never going to be a good combination,” she said.
“A game like that is not something that knocks your confidence, it is something that makes you more determined for the next game.
“We were playing the WSL champions and they played like champions in the game but that's gone now, we are focused on the next match and putting right the individual and collective mistakes we made that day.”
She added: “[Doncaster is] a great stadium with a great pitch, so hopefully there will be plenty of room to get the ball down and play some good football.”
